February Relentless Update
As we see 2017 shaping up to be a banner year at LCC, I am excited knowing that we have more people involved in missions and outreach than ever before. Jesus compels us in Matthew 28 to, “go and make disciples of all nations,” and in His strength, that is what we aspire to do.
This year, we have short-term teams serving regionally in Beaufort and Jasper counties and Savannah. Nationally, teams are heading to Atlanta and Washington, D.C. Internationally, a large group of LCCers are off to Italy this summer. Looking forward to autumn, we will be learning more about one of our organizational partners, Compassion International, as they bring a mobile exhibition called “The Compassion Experience” to our church. It’s an interactive traveling exhibit that will take you through true stories of children living in developing countries. Trust me: you won’t want to miss this!
Moving into our new building in September is in our sights, and while that is momentous in the life of our church, even more important to us is what we will use that building for: to provide more room for more people to hear the gospel. You may recall that we all went into the building last year when it was just steel beams and exterior walls and wrote hundreds of names and prayers for changed lives to occur. We continue to believe together that those prayers will all be answered.
It was so encouraging to learn that, following our recent Relentless generosity initiative last month, 43 additional families have pledged approximately $156,000 over the next 12 months to support our God-sized vision. We are grateful to the Lord for new people jumping into partnership with LCC to reach more and more people with the message of love and hope that only Jesus offers.
Let’s keep it up and continue showing Christ’s love to our neighbors, sharing the good news, and keeping our eyes open for all God is calling us to do in 2017. Easter is just around the corner. Let’s invite those in our spheres of influence to hear the story of Jesus.
Thank you for your partnership, prayers, and your sacrifices. They all have eternal benefits.
Your pastor and friend,
